Cho La is a summit pass located 5,420m (17,782ft.) above sea level in the Solukhumbu district in north eastern Nepal. It can be quite strenuous at times as you have to walk for an average of six hours everyday. However, the presence of tea houses along the route gives us time for refreshments and rest. On camping treks, our porters and support staff will arrange all of your food and accommodation. With our assistance you can reach the Base Camp after seven days of walking. Cho la pass – EBC, Gokyo Lake as well Renjo La trekking routes have good lodges and tea house facilities managed by both Sagarmatha National park team and local ethnic group. They provides hygienic and delicious food to the trekkers.

Chola-pass-Everest

Cho la pass trekking route demands previous experience of walking on s now/ice over the pass. Because the edge of the glacier is unstable. It is one of the challenging and adventurous pass in the world. Cho la pass trekking is getting worse each year. This is why, Glorious Himalaya Trekking Company strongly recommends joining with a government registered Trekking Agency and hire an experienced mountain guide and porters. It is the most intelligent to get information about Cho la when you reach close to Cho la or in Gokyo/Labuche/Dzong la or around. At the top of Cho la, it is about two meters crevasse and bottomless. And also there is a small lake at the top, just beside it you have to pass the Cho la top. It is better not to try go over this pass if there is snowing. There is an alternative route instead of Cho la pass that is via Phortse to connect each other to Gokyo and EBC.

Glorious Himalaya suggests follow first Everest base camp{EBC} route or Dzongla if you are planning a trip to Cho la. Because from this side you would not ascend lot. Around the last step of Cho la or about half an hour you have to walk on big flat hill of Ice which you already would have seen from Pheriche valley so on. Please, be careful during your walk because sometimes both side rock falls from the cliff hill. You also need stick to support your steps and require an ice axes.
